Working Groups
The Action is led by the chair and vice-chair. Each working group has a leadership team with a working group leader and co-leaders. A science communication coordinator (SCC) is responsible for communication towards the outside world, together with WG5. Grant awarding coordinators (GACs) are responsible for organising calls for grants. These leadership positions together form the core group, which has delegated decision-making authority to make quick decisions for the Action.
This power is delegated by the Management Committee (MC), which is a collection of Management Committee members (MCs), each representing one EU country participating in the Action. The Action Chair is the chair of the MC. The MC meets 2-3 times a year to make Action decisions.
The Action chair can be contacted for any general questions about INFOTECH-DATA. For WG-specific questions, please contact the WG leaders. The SSC and GACs can be contacted with questions regarding communication and grants, respectively.
WG 1
Validation & long-term strategy
Oversee validation of the overall INFOTECH-DATA approach. Identify and link INFOTECH-DATA to existing infrastructures, platforms and initiatives. Define long-term strategic roadmaps to extend the Action’s success
WG 2
Review & definition of functionalities
Identify key techno-functionalities requiring standardisation. Harmonise terminology and identify relevant metadata for data sharing.
WG 3
Method standardisation
Develop, test and validate a standardised method for core techno-functionalities selected by WG2.
WG 4
Data infrastructure & management
Design and implement the open-access database and data management strategy.
WG 5
Dissemination and engagement
Responsible for communication of activities, calls, and outcomes from the Action, as well as for expansion of the community. Supports in organising network activities.
